چکیده

We present a study of two X-ray bursters in the Galactic Center field with the ART-P telescope onboard GRANAT. During 1990-1992 approximately 100 X-ray bursts were detected from the Galactic Center field and most of them were identified with the two persistent sources, A1742-294 and SLX1744-299/300. The burst recurrence times were found to be ∼ 2.4 and ∼ 4.6 hours, respectively, which is significantly shorter them was previously thought. We calculated the mean and maximum fluxes during the bursts and investigated their time profiles. We found that the shape of A1742-294 bursts correlates with the burst peak flux. The spectral analysis was carried out for the strongest burst, detected from A1742-294 on Oct 18, 1990.

The Zoo of X–ray sources in the Galactic Center Region: Observations with BeppoSAX

We report the results of a survey of the Galactic Center region (| l |< 2◦, | b |< 0.5◦) performed with the BeppoSAX satellite. The flux from the center of our Galaxy corresponds to a luminosity of ∼3 10 erg s−1 in the 2–10 keV range. Due to the limited angular resolution ( > ∼ 1′) only part of it is supposed to come from Sagittarius A*, the non–thermal radio source which is believed to mark th...

X - ray Bursts from the Source A 1742 - 294 in the Galactic - Center Region

We present results of observations of the X-ray burster A1742-294 near the Galactic center with the ART-P telescope onboard the Granat observatory. The shape of its persistent spectra was well described by the model of bremsstrahlung from optically thin plasma, and it had remained essentially unchanged over ∼ 2.5 years of observations. We show that the mean interval between X-ray bursts from th...

ASCA X - ray observations of the Galactic bulge source SLX 1735 - 269

SLX 1735−269 is among the 10 persistent, high energy, SIGMA sources which contribute significantly to the last five year averaged γ/X-ray emission from the direction of the Galactic Center. Detailed study of the source has only been carried out recently from data collected by SIGMA in the 35-150 keV range without successfully establishing the nature of SLX 1735−269, consequently observations wi...

Discovery of the neutron star nature of SLX 1737 − 282

SLX 1737−282 is a persistent moderately bright X-ray source 1. 2 from the Galactic center. X-ray observations with the Wide Field Cameras on BeppoSAX have for the first time revealed the true nature of SLX 1737−282: a 15-min long thermonuclear flash was detected exposing the source as a neutron star in a binary system. The flash was Eddington-limited constraining the distance to between 5 and 8...
